Replace Cam Phaser or Replace Engine?
I have a 2017 F150 with a 5.0l engine. it has 192k miles (yes I drive a lot). It has been well maintained however the camp phasers are acting up from time to time.
Aside from the phasers acting up (i.e. stalling at stoplight sometimes, running a little rough after a long day of use), the engine runs great. no knocking or extra unwanted sounds.
My question is at this point in the life of this engine (the supposed life average of this engine is 200k) does anyone recommend changing the phasers or changing the engine? Obviously, a new engine is more than I want to pay, but I don't want to waste time and money on phasers if I need to replace the engine soon.
Does anyone else have a longer life expectancy than 200k for the 5.0?

I'm running lean on a 2007 f150 5.4l and if I let the truck idle for a long time it will start running rough but if I don't let it sit and idle it won't run rough. The only parts I bought that I havnt installed yet are a new fuel filter and the updated dorman fuel pump module. I don't know if the fuel filter was ever changed or not. I hope it's not the cam phasers. What do you think? I also want to start a new thread on what happened after doing a tranny service with Amsoil multi vehicle fluid on the same truck but that's another story. They won't even let me return the 17 qts that I planned to do a complete trans service with and now I'm stuck with them. I figured if their product caused banging in my tranny that I could return the unopened qts but I was told no.
