i bought my 2004 f150 with this remote start, astrostart astro2wa, and it'll lock and unlock my pickup but it wont start it. i dont have a manuel for this remote. i'v done some looking around on the internet and found a manuel but it didnt say much about what the actual problem might be. has anyone else every had this problem or would know how to fix it or sumthn. i just wanna get an original remote from ford but there like 100 bucks.

first thing i would check is the valet switch that is normally under the dash by the steering column.

next check the hood switch that it is not shorted. if it has one.

has any work been done on the steering column or the cluster?

might have to get the extra key or module reprogrammed if that is the case.

the only time it has been messed with is wen the pickup got recaqlled for the clock spring wire harness other then tht idk if it has evr been messed with.
