Default Remote start

Hi,
I have a 2015 F150 4x4 Lariat my factory remote start doesn’t work, when I press the button the truck park lights flash and the horn beeps, on the remote after I press the remote start button twice a tiny red light blinks twice but the truck doesn’t start, I’ve tried disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes and then it worked but only once then its right back to not working, it’s not the remote because I have two and both do the same thing, I’ve tried standing right beside my truck and it still does the same thing.
any ideas anyone

Is the truck low on fuel where the light is on ? Is the check engine light on ? Does the truck think the hood is open ?

A quick google search suggests this.

If your 2015 Ford F150's remote start suddenly stops working, the most likely culprits are: low battery in the key fob, a faulty hood latch sensor (meaning the hood isn't fully closed), a low vehicle battery, a disabled remote start setting in the truck, or a potential check engine light indicating a mechanical issue; check these first before assuming a more complex problem.

Key points to check:
  • Key fob battery:
Replace the batteries in your key fob, even if they seem to be working, as a weak battery can sometimes disrupt the remote start function.
  • Hood latch sensor:
Ensure the hood is fully closed and the latch is engaged properly. A slightly open hood can prevent the remote start from activating.
  • Vehicle battery:
Check the vehicle's battery voltage. A low battery can disable the remote start feature as a safety precaution.
  • Remote start settings:
Verify that the remote start function is enabled in the truck's settings.
  • Check engine light:
If the check engine light is on, it can sometimes disable the remote start feature on some Ford vehicles.

Other potential issues:
  • Door not fully closed: Check if any doors are not completely shut, as this could also prevent remote start.
  • Out of range: Ensure you are within the operating range of the key fob.
  • Programming issues: If you recently changed the key fob batteries, you might need to re-program the fob with the vehicle.

What to do next:
  • Consult your owner's manual:
The manual will provide specific instructions on how to troubleshoot remote start issues for your particular vehicle model.
  • Visit a Ford dealership:
If you've checked all the basic troubleshooting steps and the issue persists, consult a Ford technician to diagnose the problem

This may be a silly question, but are you pressing the lock button before you double press the remote start button?

Wink

it's the hood sensor I had the same thing. I just wiggled the connector and it fixed
