Default Remote start

I don't have a key fob to remote start my F-150. I can, however, use the Ford Sync program. It seems likely that the truck receives the same signal either from a fob or from WiFi. Are there people who have hacked the Ford Sync program or the key fob and thus know the form of this signal?

For xxxx, I don't believe it's necessary to state year, model and version for this question. LOL

I think this applies to 2019 or 2020 and newer, however it might be nice to provide your vehicle details. We know it is an F150 but know nothing else.

Is it an XL or a Limited, what year?
I think the year is important because as far as I know, the 2016 Lariat I am driving has ONLY FOB starting. Ford Pass doesn't work with my model year, which I think is what you meant by saying Ford Sync?

Ford Pass is the correct program. I misspoke.

I can't see any way it makes any difference what model F-150 it is. 2018 XLT. I am not asking about a specific vehicle.
The key fobs are not specific to any model. Ford Pass is not specific to any model.
I asked about the type of signals the fobs transmit. And how Ford Pass executes the start. The autostart routine is obviously accessed by a radio signal in the case of the fob and by a software signal transmitted via WiFi in the case of Ford Pass.

The computer software in all the models of pickups is necessarily the same or very similar. Lower trim pickups are missing some sensors and actuators. And perhaps some features are disabled in the software although that is not necessary.

I don't really care about a case where the vehicle doesn't have a fob or works with Ford Pass. That should have been obvious.

So after my rant. Is there any place that publishes a schematic for a key fob with autostart? Any place that explains the operation of Ford Pass.

I guess you are correct -knowing you mean Ford Pass, not SYNC, your question pretty much applies to Ford.
It DID NOT apply to me as a Ford Pass thing, however if there was something SYNC related, it could have.

Perhaps replace Ford SYNC with Ford Pass in the first post, so post #1 isn't misleading. I provided an answer based on what was asked in Post #1 but did not provide an answer to what you intended to ask.

A key fob sends a radio frequency signal that is recieved by a local antenna reciever in your truck. The OEM signal is very weak versus an aftermarket system. The Ford Pass was a cellular phone based system that used the mobile phone system that actually placed a "phone call" to a cellular modem within the truck; a very different system than the key fob system. Once the call is received by the modem or the signal is received by the receiver the two systems probably trigger the same actuator as the key. The model year of the truck does matter in that the older models, like my '14, had G3 systems for the Ford Pass, that is no longer supported by the phone companies and thus not supported by Ford anymore. If I want to install a phone based system in my truck I'll have to go aftermarket. I don't know of any vehicle that uses WIFI for remote starting. That doesn't make any sense to me; but I'm just a dumb old man.
