Default reciever hitch

what do you all do to keep your hitch from getting stuck to the truck?

it is a real pain to have to chain it up to a tree just to get it out.

any tips?

sorta, but i was thinking some anti seize compound like you would use on pipes, but that thing about that is if sand or something gritty like that gets in there, it would makea grinding compound and never come out.

Have you tried WD? The only truck i ever had a problem like this with was my 95 4 Runner when I first got it. I figured it was because the receiver had never been used before me. After cleaning it and spraying it down with WD 40 and a little while using it, it stopped sticking in there. Try not leaving it in so long if that's when it becomes a problem.

I would give it a good clening and like whitecrystal said put some WD-40 in the reciever.

i figured if i take a wire brush and cleaned it up good it should be fine.

and i leave my reciever hitch in because i dont like it in the bed because it gets lost in the snow, and covered in ice, and i dont like it in the cab because its dirty, lol

thanks for the ideas

Post Hitch

Don't use WD-40,it's Hygroscopic(attracts water). Clean up the hitch and use a spray on dry lube.
