First thing I'd do is check the fuse.

Default Rear Defrost

If the fuse is good you might as well just replace it ! They're known to go bad. We've replaced numerous windows for the same reason where I work. Just replaced mine 2 months ago

Sliding window I presume?

If so, there are plenty of threads explaining how a faulty rear defroster can cause the rear window to shatter. There are also threads on how to bypass the rear window wiring so that the indicator button on the climate controls still work alongside the heated outside mirrors. Check in the 2009-2014 forum.

I'm having the same issue the indicator light doesn't not work I replaced my stock mirrors with tow mirrors that have heat, turn signals and puddle lamps, did this last summer, doubt that would be the reason as I'm now seeing that it's probably a common problem, just started a few weeks ago and yet to find the solution any ideas fuses and relays are good... 2012 Ford F-150 FX4 SCREW
