Default Rear is whining

I have a 97 f150 and the my rear is whining and has gotten pretty loud. when i replaced the gear fluid everythin looked ok inside, or atleast the ring and pinion is still intact

I ordered a lift and am gonna put new gears in it for the larger tires. Do you think this could solve it? a friend sugested it might be bearing
Any ideas? just dont want the rear goin out when im driving down the highway

If youre puttin new gears in anyway, I wouldnt worry too much. My rear diff was howling for over a year and I had no problems. Then when it came to it I just replaced all the bearings at once. But if youre putting new gears in, replace all bearings too. Dont quote me, but Im sure the noise will go away.

Yea mine whines like crazy at like 45-50 and whenever i accel and cruise. Its been doing it for years. the dealer says 2 things. 1) can get it to reproduce the sound. 2) its typical and they all do it. 8 yrs and still no problems.

Mine has whined for a long, long time. My dad owned the truck before I did and it whined as well. I just dumped $800 in it last week and it's so quiet! New R&P, bearings, seals, fluid, limited slip clutches etc. Mine was loud at around 50 mph and then within the last couple weeks, it got louder and stayed loud up to 65 mph. It also began making noise as it decelerated. Very happy it's fixed now.

All of a sudden I started hearing a whinning noise. It is so faint, I can't even hear it when the radio is turned on to very low volume level. I can't tell where it's coming from yet. My guess is the front end. Who knows...........it's so faint, yet it bugs the hell out of me just knowing it's there. I hope it's not my bearings. I hope it's my imagination.LOL.
