So I have an 8/2020 Screw and my back up camera stopped working. I tried all the different things online to remedy the problem but none of them worked.
Unfortunately my model year does not fall under the recall yet. Checked fuses, Replaced camera, APIM, and rear tailgate wire harness. Nearly had 2 accidents in one month.
Dealer is stumped and I am tired of throwing my $$ out for a safety hazard that Ford should pay for as it is a well known issue in older and newer models.
Any suggestions on how to get Ford to wake up and fix it?

I agree that you should be able to find a fix. But safety hazard? I have been driving pickup trucks since 1968 and have never felt that a lack of a backup camera was a “safety hazard”. Driving skill shouldn’t be supplanted with technology.
Either pay to get it repaired, drive without it, or get a Garmin DezlCam with backup camera. I wouldn’t think anyone should expect a manufacturer to pay for repairs for a four or five year-old vehicle.
Just came here also to get advice on a fix and have an idea there might be one since the old camera still works when connecting a 12v battery directly to it at the old harness connection, starting the truck and then putting it in reverse.
Why has Ford recalled so many rear camera issues at their expense?
Why was the rear camera mass produced?
its nice to have before even backing up when downtown with other vehicles blocking your view because other people a speeding down Main Street.
Do you feel safer in your truck because you supplanted walking on the side of the highway to driving a modern technological vehicle to work and everywhere else, instead ? especially if you’ve have been walking since 1968?

I’ve been walking since 1958 by the way..,
I hope you find a fix, but it is unreasonable for Ford to pay to fix it. Here is the 1950 Ford warranty; 90 days or 4,000 miles, whichever comes first. The current warranty you enjoyed is much improved , but there must be limits at some point.
We all complain that the average sale of a new F-series truck is now nearly $67,000. Unreasonable expectations of unlimited repairs out of warranties and excessive recalls only raises those prices.

This is the kind of thing that happens when a manufacturer sources the cheapest parts and doesn't verify they meet acceptable levels of quality. Then, when the part fails in numbers too high to hide, they are forced to issue a recall, which impacts their bottom line. $270 million and counting.
