Default Re gear?

Howdy,

I currently run stock 16's on my 2001 extended cab with 245 tires. I bought a set of stock 4x4 wheels for this year so they're 17" and have 265/70 tires on them. My truck is a 2wd with a 4.6L.
Question is:
Will I need to re gear my truck to maintain power if I install the bigger tires and rims?
If so how much $?
What kinda work and parts involved if I do it myself?

I appreciate the help.

power loss should be minimal... that's not a big increase in tire size, but I'd try it out for a bit and see if it's still got enough get-up for you. If not, think about a regear.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, it's not much bigger.
But I don't do a lot of engine upgrades in the first place so I want to keep all the power I've got.
