Default RANT 2014 FX4 crap!

Bought my 2014 FX4 off the lot about a month or two ago.

Got the 5.0 L 3.73 gears with every option except the appearance package and cost me a big 50K

NOW I have had NOTHING but ****ing problems from day 1 .

Body damage : I bought it later at night when it was dark could not inspect it at time . The next day when the sun was up an noticed it was dirty as **** , Stickers still on (no new car clean...)

So I gave it a good wash and spray wax and to my suprise this thing was littered with scratches and paint defects.

Paint nibs, scratches, blemishes... Etc.

Go back to my dealer and they said oh yeah we can fix it...

Took me going to 3 seperate places and 1 month to get "all " the body work done ...... Besides the dent in the door . Leather seat was also ripped at time of purchase which they are refusing to fix

I was not happy with some of the body work as they left huge blemishes that made some of it look worse.

I have been hounding the dealer for 2 months now and they still refuse to fix all the damage they sold it to me with (A 50K truck!!)

So I got the review emailed to me to give a service rating. I gave a horrible review because not only did they delay fixing this **** I had to phone them myself day in day out just to get them to ackknowledge me.

So the reviews get sent to the service managers or manager or w.e and he is know holding a grudge (told to me by a salesman there) and is telling them to refuse me any further service for the damage they sold me this truck with.......

I Will be looking into seeking legal aid for this complete unprofessional Way this Ford dealership has treated me. Hopefully I can sort things out but to anyone reading this be weary of Ford ... Was always treated great at dodge and will never look at another Ford product again

Rant over thanks for reading

Where did you get this truck? That way people can steer clear of them.

It is a good idea to purchase a $50,000 dollar vehicle at night. ~~ said no one ever.

Sorry to hear about your problems.

Seems like you will have little legal recourse. Any "defects" were notorious and discoverable to the average reasonable person. The fact that you failed to walk around a $50k purchase and accept delivery will help the dealers case.

I had similar issues with my FX4 purchase back in May.

When I bought the truck there was a scuff on the driverside window sill - was assured it would be fixed ASAP.

I had the truck sent out for Linex and under coating - came back with large amounts of overspray (me and my girlfriend were able to rub off the over spray on the outside and windows) there was hardened overspray in between the box and cab.

A deep boot scuff appeared on my bumper cap while it was there as well.

A trick dealers will do is give you the truck fresh from a wash so when you get it, its wet and hard to find flaws. I'm too smart for that and used to be a detailer in my teens.

I had to complain so many times I lost count, they made so many different promises my head spun. It really made them look like goofs. They were going to lend me the managers GT mustang (lied after, what a shocker) and many other things which just seemed like sugar coating! Give me an F'n Pinto while its getting fixed for all I care! I just want what I paid for, A NEW TRUCK.

I documented everything that happened with dates, names and pictures, as well I have a 3 page email I was prepared to send to Ford Canada. I was so frustrated about the whole ordeal! After informing the manager in person of my plans during a surprise visit I did, things turned around rather quickly. Getting angry on the sales floor was a nice touch I added plus allowed me to take out some frustration.

In the end it took about 3 months and finally the manager caved in and admitted they were not capable of fixing my problems, they sent me to a sister dealership which was actually closer to me. That dealer fixed everything in 1 day. The truck was mint. I was shocked and happy.

Moral of the story, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Poor dude.. To be honest we have all been there and done that.

That shiny new truck gets the best of all of us.

I would just be as friendly as possible go back to the dealer you bought from and just try to work something out. Maybe some spray in bed liner,. You get what I'm saying. It's a ****ty situation but it happens. Lesson learned, right?

Hate to say it, but your young at 20 and this dealer pulled the wool over your eyes.. For $50k, I'd be pissed too. Let it be a lesson learned, DONT shop at night time.. Its not the end of the world..

If it makes you feel any better, I test drove my truck in a torrential down pour after which the sun came out. The dealer never detailed the the truck and let me drive it off the lot with less than a 1/4 tank of gas. BUT, the deal was sooooo sweet.. On the other hand, I was a little upset.
