Default Radio Problems ??

2010 XLT; 12 mo, 12k miles old. Radio started acting up a week ago; sometimes right side speakers very low (almost 0) volume, sometimes Sync inop (next time works fine). No time to take it to dealer for check yet (middle of remodeling house). Any ideas?

thats a funny one, sounds like they will say it's a bad head unit and replace but I wonder if loose wires could be the suspect?

It gets even weirder! I normally only listen to 1 channel that plays 2 different kinds of music (country and western). Today, I switched channels and all is ok on the other pre-programed 8 channels. When I go back to my favorite, it reverts back to being very muted on the right side. Please don't tell me that I'm listening to a left biased radio station. I'll still take it to the dealer to check out, but it may be the station vs the unit itself. Very weird!!

weird! Are you going between am/fm and sirius maybe? Definitely sounds like a station problem now, have you tried playing a cd?

I have a similar problem with a red dirt station here in Lubbock. I have an aftermarket radio in my truck but I comes in real weak, lots of static. It's a 50000W station 25 miles away in the plains. Now it only does it this drastically with this station, but I have noticed similar RX lacking performance on another red dirt station out of Angelo. Concluded it is the radio since I never had a problem with RX on my old aftermarket and none of my friends with aftermarket or OE radios have the same problem. I'd say the head unit has gone bad...

Just talked with one of our remodeling guys, and he noticed the same weak right side speaker problems, but on a different channel that mine. He also has a 2010 XLT w/Sync. Will keep you posted if I can ever get to the dealer.
