Default Quick DTC Question

Hello - I tried some quick searching, but can't find my answer. Hoping it's an easy one. Just bought a 2013 Ecoboost a little over 6 months ago and over the weekend the Engine light came on. Had it read and it was P0430 indicating the LH converter is bad. My question is, there was 3 of this same exact code. Does that mean the code has come on 3 times prior and then turned off? It has since turned off when the weather warmed up.

Thanks.
Ryan

Took it to an auto parts store. They used Actron AutoScanner Plus from what I remember.

It means their scan tool hiccupped or needs replacing. The pcm will only store 1 code for each malfunction.

And converters don't just fail. There is an underlying issue to make the converter fail if in fact it did.

Yeah.. like an un-corrected mis-fire that allowed raw fuel to be dumped into them...

It's rare but I have personally experienced failed converters with no underlying cause a few times over the 11 years I worked at the dealer.

I just bought it a little over six months. First thing I did was changed plugs based on some of the feedback I saw on here. They were gapped all over the place. The tricky thing is that it turned off once the weather warmed up. I tried to call the dealer to get it diagnosed but they told me they might not be able to tell me what the issue is if the light isn't on.
