Guess it depends on your intentions!

There is a lot more than engine size, too. Two wheel, or four wheel drive.....auto, or manual.....regular, S-cab, or S-crew? Then there are color choices, different trim packages and on and on...........

So, what do want a truck, to do for you?

Owned both a V6 and V8, I prefer the V8 models. Better performance and not much difference in mileage.

I would never buy the V6 since it gets the same fuel economy as either V8 but is a dog. I had the 5.4L in my 2005 Lariat and it was great. Averaged 16.1 city/hwy and it was 2wd. I have the 4.6L in my 2002 Supercrew and its a pig and averages 13.2 city/hwy. I kinda wish I wouldda held out for the 5.4L in this truck, too.

Side note- I did notice alot better pickup and response after switching to 91 octane gas in the 4.6L.
