Default Question about key on push button start

The fob has a key in it, and I found another one in the glovebox
now I understand it’s used to get in the truck if the remote battery is dead
So if you get in but the remote is dead how do you start the truck with that flat key or can’t you ?
i don’t see anything in the manual re that

Insert your intelligent access key (Fob) with the dead battery in the back up slot located under the front cup holder mat in the console and then start your truck by depressing the brake and start button. The key in the fob is used to access the spare tire also.
