Default Question about gears?

hey people. i'm thinkin about putting lower gears in my rear end. can anyone tell me how much this would cost roughly for me to have someone put them in for me. also it is a 4wd, will it effect anything when it is in 4wd? do i need to put lower gears in the front too?

what do you have in it now? and yea if you change out the rear then you should definatley change the front too, if you dont have the cash to do both at the same time they recommend taking out your front axles so if you forget and put it in 4wd it wont actually come on. you can cause some nice damage if you dont.

Yep, front and rear. You're looking at $1500-1800 complete, unless you can find someone to do it on the side.

holy crap! thats one thats gonna be put on the wish list. i have no idea what's in it now, i've only had the truck for a couple of months. i was just trying to climb a hill the other day and seemed like i had to give it more gas than i expected to. guess i'll just put it down in low next time.
