i was reseting my trip meter and was playing with the message centre when my compass and thermometer went away and was then replaced by the letters CAL please help its very annoying and i tried disconnecting the battery but that didnt help either.

 

Have you checked the owner's manual?
There might be some info on how to reset your message center.

My 96 doesn't have a message center so I can't help
other than to suggest checking the manual.

Sounds like you just cleared your compass. You might try checking the owners manual for how to calibrate your compass. I know it requires driving in a circle but the manual should provide more instructions.

That's probably what the CAL means, CALibrate!!

on my 05 it says how to do it on page 77 under the section " driver controls" maybe yours is in there to.
