Default problem with dealer

picked up my 2011 F-150 xlt on 3/30/2011.from Roy O`BRIAN Ford in ST.Clair Shores Mi.( also 4 mos ago wife bought a 2011 Taurus from the same dealer so we have spent over $50,000 )truck had the complete tow package minus the TBC. i asked the sales person if that it could be installed and was told ....only on the crew cab. not on my truck. i then found this wonderful F-150 forum !!!! and found out that i can install the TBC then take it back to the dealer and have it (augmented) after i told the sales person about this site and the info on the TBC he said wow i didn`t know that . you learn every day . and no help from him i ordered the TBC folowed the thread and installed the TBC. took my truck back to the dealer to have it turned on and was told it will cost me $96.00 to have it done i told them the whole story and they said it will still cost me $96.00 . it looks like after thay get your money it`s hit the road . i`m leaving tomorow night going to St.Louis to pick up a trailer i can stop along the way get this taken care of i don`t want it done free just not pay $96.00 for an item that the dealer should of put on my truck from the start. any body know of a ford dealer in the northern part of indy or north of st. louis that can help me. i called ford customer service and they said that they can`t help. i`ll have my netbook with me on the trip thanks phil m.

I didn't realize 'Roy OBrien' was still around.

I still remember their jingle from back in the '60's.

They use to play the jingle all the time on CKLW. ("Radio 80 on your AM dial")

Sorry, I don't know any Indiana Dealers tho.

Good luck.

Wonder what exactly they do for $96?

Probably about the same thing they do to make you a 'new' coded key if you don't have another one.

Gurley Leep Ford has a pretty good reputation around South Bend, never had a direct experience with them though. Over closer to my area is Pine Ford in LaPorte which I've delt and is good service. Stay away from Barile Ford in Valpo.

scca, if you know any of the mechanics in the dealer's shop talk with them. Some of the dealers (without their knowledge of course) have what I call the midnight auto repair. Some of the mech's will bring the vehicle in the back door after hours and do the work alot cheaper. They make a little extra money, and you save a little extra money.
