Default Pre-collision warning system

This is on an Explorer so hoping same as F150. My daughters vehicle. If you turn the collision warning system ON, it warns of potential front collision, or more like anytime you get remotely close to an object. It doesn't apply the brakes, but beeps to warn you. It's sort of a pain so they turn the system OFF.
With the system off, anytime the cruise control is set, the warning on the dash and the beep goes off every 30-60 seconds. The dialogue warning says the pre-collision is not available..............well yes I know that cause we turned it off. Is there any way to turn off these annoying warnings????
I've searched the manual and all the info systems and can't find any info on how to turn all this off.
