Default power steering problem

I have a 2010 XLT F150 2WD with a 2.5" leveling kit with some 34" all terrain tires. So I went off roading on the beach and decided to do some doughnuts on the sand. Everything was fine until I noticed some weird grinding noise coming from the truck when I had the wheel turned all the way. So I stopped the fun and checked everything out and it seemed fine. Once I got off the beach and back onto pavement I noticed something didn't feel right with the power steering. It steers perfectly fine when I am driving but once i come to a stop and I try to turn the wheel, it makes a strange grinding noise and becomes really difficult just to turn the wheel as if something is stopping it or its straining really hard just to turn the tires. I have done many doughnuts on grass and wet parking lots before without any problems so I am thinking its just sand stuck somewhere. So I power washed underneath the truck and the front axle in hopes that it would help but still am having the same problem.
