Default Power running boards

Hello all
hoping I can get some help. I had my truck worked on a couple of weeks ago at a shop they replaced the condenser for my ac. When I got the truck back the power running boards were acting funny they go down when you open the door but take 4 minutes to go up when you close the door. The shop could not figure it out and sent it to a ford service shop, the shop said I need all new brackets both sides basically new running boards for a total of 4K. The shop that did the ac work denied responsibility and said all they did was disconnect the battery. I plan on taking it to a different ford shop but hoping maybe someone has some tricks I can try. Supposedly they already tried to reset and re program the system. Thanks

Welcome to the club.

If you list the year, model, etc. you will get a quicker response.

Try locking the running boards out and open and close the door. Then lock them in and open and close the door again. Then set them to auto and see how that works.

Have you tried turning them off and on again?

Mine so far have been flawless... mostly. Just need to keep them lubed.

All the way to the right on the gauge cluster then advance settings, my truck, i think it's second or third from the bottom. Auto, off and out are the options in an '18.

I’m having trouble with my driver’s side running board as well. Except, with mine it all of the sudden decided that sometimes it does not want to go up the way up and stay up. It will go up when I get put o 15 miles per hour, and it will go up and stay up if I use my foot to push it up when I close the door. Like I said, it doesn’t do this all of the time. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I have a 2015 F-150 Platinum. Thanks!
