Default Power running boards

Hey everyone. I Know this has been discussed at length. I have a 40000km 2011 f150 limited and of course drivers running board is locked down. Motor makes noise but nothing. I am gonna pull it completely apart and try lube and clean everything but im skeptical.Has anyone pulled actual motor apart and tried this? any tips or advice on how i can maybe get the motor to work? Has Anyone got rid of these crappy factory ones and put AMP research on theirs? In Canada they want almost $2800 to fix mine, what a joke and greasy company Ford has turned into.I cant find a used motor any where in North America. I can buy two new Amps for 1000$ less. Just curious if anyone has switched to these and how do they compare. To bad they dont work with the factory computer but oh well. For almost 3 grand not much choice.Any comments and suggestions would help cause id like to save some money. And i called AMP research and they said they have NEVER made these for ford. Thanks all

AMPs are worth it. And look very similar.

Definitely ditch the oem boards, have had my Amps now going on 3 years and it's hands down one of the best mods on my truck.

+1 for Amps as well. Had mine for a little over 2 years, absolutely love them.

Not sure if this is the case with yours but mine just recently stopped working. It would fall down and have no hold. I could basically push it up by hand and it would just fall. Motor would run and it would hesitate but nothing wouldn't lift. Took it off and found that one of the arms that wraps around the sleeve from the motor cracked at the top. I must have banged it on something or other. The biggest issue is that you can't buy just pieces. Only the whole assembly with motor. Good luck.
