Default Power Lock Problem- '99 F150

My driver side power lock makes a noise like it wants to lock or unlock the door but usually does not. I am guessing that it is a bad lock solenoid or perhaps the linkage just needs some lube. Anyone have this problem? If so, how do you get the door panel off without destroying all the little plastic tabs and clips? Thanks for your input!

i've taken off the door panel - the little plug fasteners have a center that causes the outer piece to become wedged into the drilled hole; it can be punched in. you can use a straight punch or a 0-tip phillips screwdriver to push the center in completely, and you may be able to retreive the centers from inside the door once the panel is off. I replaced complete fastener with some I bought from auto zone, but after I removed the panel 4-5+ times I've put the panel back on and not used the little plug fasteners.

I installed aftermarket speakers and later I installed a relay system for remote door locks. I modified a schematic drawing to better illustrate how the door locks work with and without the remote/realy system.
