power door locks quit working

Default power door locks quit working

My power locks quit working at the same time my door ajar light came on plus my automatic lights only work on the parking lights. Its a 2006 f150 4x4 super crew cab is there thing i can do be i take it to a dealer

Could be fuse but my guess would be something gone wrong with door switch.

I have checked all fuses and relays, i understand there is a vss system that runs all this.i wanting to know is what activates the vss is it the door switches, where you start troubleshooting

vss = vehicle speed sensor, has nothing to do with the door locks. I would disconnect the battery ground cable for no less than 15 minutes, it may reset.

Yes, great advice.

I'm so used to working on my '80s P-cars that I tend to forget about all the computers involved in nearly every aspect of a modern vehicle.

Unhook battery as suggested above and re-evaluate symptoms.

I think there are threads about the wire in the body to door loom breaking causing these symptoms. May search it a little deeper and find your answer.

Thank you all for info. I was lead to believe the vss was the vehicle security system. Im goingto try ddisconnecting the negative cable and reset everything
