Default Powder Coating Chrome Wheels

I'm looking to get my chrome wheels powder coated because the salt here in Ohio has ruined them. I talked to one place and they said just to get them sand blasted and then they could powder coat them, but another place said the chrome might come off in the oven while getting powder coated and that I should think about getting the chrome stripped first. What do you guys think? Should I take the chance of just getting them sand blasted and then powder coated and just skip getting them stripped or should I get them stripped first. It will cost me $30 per rim for the sand blasting and $45 per rim for the powder coating, so it's nothing outrageous. What are your guys thoughts?

I would strip all the chrome off first

Yeah that's what I've decided I'm going to do. And I see you live in Midland. I lived in Lubbock for almost five years. Just moved back to Ohio a little over a year and a half ago.
