^^ Why does that concern you? Its not like anyone can come steal your truck with your VIN... Can do nothing with that number without your registration. The most someone can do is give you a free carfax.

Think about it like this... every time that truck leaves your garage, the VIN is free for everyone to see unless you popped the totally visible VIN plate off the dash (wich is illegal I might add).

with the vin you can actually call up a dealer say you are from a shop and get a key made

i have my vin covered up

I doubt it's that easy,Im sure they will want all your info before releasing a key to just someone walking in...

^ Such is true. It is illegal for any DEALERSHIP to make a key for a vehicle without proving ownership or custody of said vehicle. I can appreciate his source for security though. Not a bad thing.
