Default Post Lead Frame Problems

So over the past week I replaced my lead frame and... all Rev but no drive. The engine revs, no reverse or drive. Not even any creeping motion. No codes, gives me a shift to park message when I have the door open. Also when put in drive the gear indicator switches between 1 and 2 without me doing anything to it.

... I just watched this today but I have no problems with mine. I would wonder if you got your leadframe shift pin connected to the shift linkage properly. Leadframe to pin and after pin and shift linkage.

After seeing the video maybe check the harness plug is seated properly. Move and wiggle the wires. Look at the shifter cable on the outside of the transmission. Just some stuff to try before you drop the pan. Also do you have floor shifter or column? Floor / console shifters have been known to have problems with the micro switch but that may only effect the starting. That you have no codes.. Not sure that's good or bad.

Reading the manual mentions if no dtc's are set to carry out the key on engine off (KOEO) and the key on engine running (KOER) self test. I have no idea how yet. This is in routine diagnostics for the transmission. For no forward, then no reverse. First thing is check for correct fluid level. Second is run those above tests.

So reading your original post the shift to park has me thinking the bcm or whatever doesn't know what gear you are in at that moment. But it did start for you.. can you start every time? One more thing if you tell me what shifter I can look up the cable test procedure if you like.

it has a column shifter and starts everytime. I actually think i might have too much fluid as there are no codes

Ford says to warm it up and shift into each gear to circulate the oil I guess. Some info below. Maybe try this and see if you get the shift to park message still.

The video shows the electrical lead frame connection to the trans range sensor (time stamp 26:30). I once forgot this step but caught it during final fit-up and saved myself a major headache. Your symptoms make me think the lead frame did not engage the trans range sensor properly.

Why did you replace it? What was the transmission doing before?
