I had a viper remote start recently just taken out because I suspect it screwed with my electrical...every time u open the door the chime goes off without the key in the ignition is one of the problems..another thing is I get a low battery warning come on my 4.2 inch radio screen saying battery saving mode please Start inginition or shut off right when I turn off my truck and thirdly u press the lock button on the door and the door locks and unlocks right away.. I'm afraid Ford is going to void my warranty now that I had this remote start installed.. Any feedback will be appreciated on what can be causing this...

 

since i install remote starts i can tell you how its supposed to be hooked up and how it might be affecting this.

on the 11+ f150 the "keysense" wire has to be powered and or diode isolated when doing this. If it was not connected right, it could be powered and the truck thinks a "key is in the ignition". that is why its "dinging" and the truck unlocks when locked on the door. I have tested it and it acts EXACTLY like this when the key is in the ignition. I would start there first. If you are comfortable checking this out yourself, there are "3" 7/32 screws holding the bottom cover on and the top just " unsnaps".

 

That's what I said to myself" it thinks there's a key in the ignition "when I was trying to figure out why it was doing that..it was working fine after it was installed 1 yr ago and this all started a few months back..there was times when the whole chime issue would just go away but it came back and now it won't go away...but even after stripping all of the remote start out its still doing it..where is that location exactly located on the truck..
