Unhappy Possible 3,000 Mistake

($3000) I've been a member of this forum for a while, but have never posted as I have never had the need to do so; however, today circumstances have arisen and this has changed. I have had my 2009 f150 for a while and have done most of the pretty standard modifications: 6 inch rough Country lift kit, Nitto trail grapplers, winch mount and winch, etc. I had 34" Nitto Trail Grapplers installed on my stock rims almost a year and a half ago while I still had a 2.5" leveling kit, and the time had come to replace my wheel setup as the old set had become almost dangerously worn. I wanted to go with a larger set of tires since I had installed my lift so I did some reading, and read where some people had managed to fit 35-37" tires under a 6 lift with no to moderate trimming. I decided to skip the gear ratio swap, but still try to achieve a tough look by making what I thought was a decent compromise, buying 20x12 fuel assaults and 325/60/R20 (35.5x12.5") nitto trail grapplers to go on my truck. I went to the tire shop to have them installed today and watched proudly as my newly installed tires hit the pavement for the first time. Much to my dismay, the new tires are bigger than I had anticipated (no, seriously) and I never made it out of the parking lot because they were rubbing so badly that I was unable to make a decent turn. The tires themselves are great, but I lack about an inch and a half of clearance in the back of the front fenders to clear. I know it is not a good idea to use a leveling kit on top of a six inch rough country lift, as it will cause problems, and my winch (which is mounted to the inside of the frame behind the front bumper) prevents me from installing a body lift. I need 1 to 2 more inches of clearance to run these tires. I need help and am open to suggestions. Also, if anyone has trimmed in order to fit these size tires, if you could post pictures of how you did it, that would be awesome. Thanks!

Cheapest and easiest thing to do is get a set of rims with less -offset. Those tires stick out way too far for the lift you have.

If you truly only need another 1-2 inches, then you could swap out your OEM struts with Boss Coilovers and set them up no more than 2" and keep the spacer that the RC kit comes with. Not cheap but may possibly be cheaper than new wheels

Yeah... you did not do enough reading ... those wheels are the problem like Comp said. why too much off set.. 20X12 need more lift.

The 20x12 seem to be too big. 20x9 with a +1 offset fit running 35" tires on the 2015/2016

I'm in the same boat just got a nice lift but I got 20" rims and 35" tires... I think I want more TIRE, so I should have went with 18" rims so the tires appear bigger

I also don't have agressive tires. I have the terra grapller g2s since I drive a lot on roads... I think for a 2nd set I'll get 18x9 rims with 35" ridge grapplers when they come out.

Okay, so going forward with the idea that I need more lift, what would be the best way to accomplish getting another few inches in the front without causing other suspension problems? Can coilovers be installed below the RC spacer?

Pretty sure that's exactly what I posted above. Just make sure those extra inch or 2 is gonna be enough to correct your issue.
