I wouldn't see why not. It just depends how much money you want to spend on it. When I had to trade in my F150 for my car (not my choice), I took my deck out and put the stock one back in. I was then planning on putting it into my car until I realized I would have had to spend over $100 just for a few wires to do it.

So it most likely just depends how much money you would be willing to spend on doing so. I still see no reason why you couldn't put a new deck in, money aside.

I think one of the hold-ups is the dash kit itself. IIRC, the dash kits will be available later this year. I'm not sure on the wiring though.
