Default 'Phone' Icon

On my 6-CD changer radio, there is a small phone icon. When it is pressed it says 'NO PHONE'.

I know this is a pre-Intel sync vehicle, but a friend has this same icon on his Dodge, and it allows him to connect to his bluetooth cell phone.

Anybody know what this is, or how it works? It may be that an aftermarket part may be needed, and the CD/Radio is prewired for it.

Thanks in advance....

Look up Ford's "Mobile-Ease" accessory, cost is in the $500 range for the system and harness MSRP for parts only:

"Mobile-ease™" Hands Free System Advanced
Part Number: 7L2Z-19G399-A

Use simple voice commands to dial your Bluetooth™-equipped wireless phone – hands free! Mobile-Ease provides hands-free communication using a microphone and the vehicle’s audio system. Once paired, Mobile-Ease links with your Bluetooth-equipped wireless phone whenever you get in your vehicle. Visit bluetooth.letstalk.com for available Bluetooth phones. Wiring harness (sold separately) is required. NOTE: Bluetooth is not available on all audio applications; see your dealer for availability. Not available with SYNC.

Maybe Ford was just 'playing' to see what they could do before Intel Sync. was completed.

Just sounded funny that the CD player/radio had an icon for something that would not work. Not very cost effective.....

Checked web site. Parts now on sale for $370.54. Still sounds way too high considering Juputer (sp) Jack is a lot cheaper.
