Permanantly locking the tailgate
Hope you can help. I have a 2020 F150 King Ranch. Has most all the bells and whistles including the auto open on the key fob for the tailgate. There is no where on the tailgate to insert a key and lock manually. I added a hard cover to the bed that attaches from inside the bed. With the tailgate up and locked, the contents are pretty secure. I am travelling with some expensive items in the bed and have to use Valet for two nights. I do not want them to have the ability to open the tailgate and have access to my stuff. Is there a way to lock the tailgate and disable the unlocking of it while still allowing them to park and retrieve my truck. I hope I explained this well enough and look forward to your thoughts
Which doesn't answer the OP's question.
No, there is no way to lock the tailgate but prevent a valet, who has the key to the vehicle, from opening the tailgate. However, if you open the tailgate and look, you will see wires going into the tailgate from the truck. If you look under the truck, I believe you will see where that harness connects. If you unplug the harness, then you would disable the lock AND the camera and other things. You might investigate this.

Not knowing what tonneau cover the OP has, I had to use my own as an example.
Giving the valet the truck fob doesn't open my tonneau cover !!

Can a FOB programmed as MY KEY be configured to disable unlocking the tailgate?
Otherwise, take a picture of the contents when you drop off the truck, then again when vehicle is retrieved. If items are missing while it was 'secured' then you can at lest make hotel management aware that items have gone missing while on their property.
Add that inspection to your daily vehicle inspection proving the valet people didn't door ding you with their sardine can parking spaces.
If you have time to experiment -play around with unplugging the wiring as mentioned above (under the bed of the truck). The Valet person won't have a camera to assist them -but be cautious. There was a thread that stated once the plug is disconnected the camera needs calibration or some silliness. Some people confirmed it as true, others say it has no effect.
Depending on the ground loop -you need to know if the gate defaults to locked or unlocked when power is removed. Or if it has no reaction either way one power is removed.

Thanks, I think. I found the harness and disconnected it. Worked perfect. Lost the back up camera, but the tailgate will not open. I reconnected the harness and nothing works now. I get a blue screen to see dealer for the camera? Cannot open my tailgate either. No clue why simple things turn ugly
