payload
Hi all,
I have a v6 manual, i'm not concerned about towing I'm more concerned on the amount of weight I can put in the bed. Is that different from a manual? my v6 supercab says gvwr of 6050 in the sticker. how much weight can I put in my truck. Is that what is called payload?

You should be able to look up your payload rating in your owners manual. Your payload rating is basically the difference between what your truck weighs, and what your GVWR is. GVWR is the maximum weight of your truck and all its cargo.
I found on a website (i bougth the truck used and it did not come witha manual) that the payload is 1900 lbs does that sound right? would it vary from a automatic both show similar number?
Here's a thread that deals with weight capacities.
1900lbs sounds about right though. Depends on if you have 4wd, 18" wheels, and what size bed though.
GCWR is the Gross Combined Weight Rating for your truck. You need to weigh it with you in it for the daily weight, you then subtract that from about 10,000lbs for total carrying capacity.
