If you do that, keep a can or 2 in the truck and if it gets scratched then just spray it real quick

here's an idea, getcha about two gallons of herculiner, about $300 and bed line the whole truck, you'll never worry about scratches again, haha, my buddy did that to his, looks cool but its only the cab, he built a flatbed, now he wants to remove it all and cut up the bed, basically he's 19 and has more money than brains right now

Professional painting these days will stun you. I had my '93 RX7 quoted recently (keep in mind this is a small car) and it was $6180. And there is no damage on this car, nothing other than a couple of door dings.
I can easily see a professionally painted full size truck costing $7K or more. And that price goes up significantly if you go with some of the paints like DuPont CHROMALUSION, that stuff is about $150 per pint, and you'll need a couple of gallons....
