Overhead Display

Overhead Display
I have a 2003 Heritage F150 and a few months ago my overhead display (direction, outside temperature) LED readout went dead. Its located in the same housing that holds the cabin passenger and driver spot lights. I checked with Ford auto parts and they claim I can only buy the whole overhead unit at a price close to $500. Any ideas where I could just pick up what I need?

just go to a junk yard and buy the whole thing it will be alot cheaper than 500 lol prolly 100 at the most or either ebay and you can just swap it put or take the parts out you need

I got a 2000 Triton and same issue. My overhead display stoped working from one day to another. Right before it when out it was first diming out and coming back on but then never came back on. I been doing lots of research on why this problem but looks like it's very comon in many 99-04 f-150's and I have not seen a good answer to fix it or what causes this to go bad. I don't think theres been a recall which there should. dealer told me I would have to buy the whole peace to fix it and can be $300 or more.
I think living in AZ can be easy to check the temperature, I can just role my window down and say "yeap! its at the triple digits" and I know where my North,South,East & West is at. the over head can stay off for as long as I own my truck, as longs as it holds my sunglasess im okay.
