Outside mirrors
This is my first thread on this astute forum, and I am almost as proud to be a member as I am proud to be a new owner of my awesome 2010 F150 Lariat, and incidently for those not familiar with this beauty, needless to say.....WHAT A TRUCK!!! This is not my first F150, but it has to be the most elegant vehicle I have ever owned. For those who know what I'm talking about, you can understand my excitement...and for those who haven't experience this joy in their lives, you don't know what you're missing..Enough of the fanfare...now a quick question. My Lariat came equipped, as an option, heated adjustable outside rearview mirror. Not the folding type, but they do have the turn signal indicators facing the driver & passenger. I discovered through my local Ford dealer that the option that included all the features on my mirror, plus the ability to fold, and has the security approach lamps along with a puddle lamp that shines down is a King Ranch & Platinum package. Has anyone changed out their existing mirrors for the upgraded mirrors, and if so, was it pricey to do so?
I think I already know the answer. I don't really know why I'm asking this question...just thinking about it..I patiently wait for any ideas about this modification..Thanks in advance..Steve in Vegas

Welcome to the forum.
I've not had the opportunity to swap out mirrors on a truck yet, I'm still shopping around for a decent price on mirrors. I should think that for the most part it would be plug and play considering almost all the trucks have the same wiring harnesses.

Welcome to the forum woodchip.
Its great that you have your own 2010 F150. I know your truck delivers outstanding performance with its distinct trim levels. Also having the sporty STX, the versatile and well-equipped XLT. Its really a one of the best truck. And the way you have made the changes as per your requirement is really very appreciable.
By the way I never had make any changes on mirrors. But Now I got idea.

I was looking at the FX4 and Lariat, but the power folding mirrors and puddle lamps were a must for me (coming from an SUV with them for the last 6 years makes a WORLD of difference parking and garaging - if only the passenger side had auto tilt down for curbs like my SUV did).
So, for price of the truck already, and the fact it was not much more to get the Platinum (and my wife jumped on the Platinum more for looks and interior style), I got the Platinum.
I think there were some threads on here not too long ago about replacing mirrors but not sure if there was a resolution as I didn't follow them (as in - is the wiring there for them already?). It was either here in General or in the 2009 and newer forum.
