Ordinary pickp
Just a plain, ordinary pickup doing its thing. No chrome wheels (with street tread tires), no diesel, no Flowmaster.
This is getting increasingly more difficult to find in a world of $50k playtoy pickups.

Your point? My truck has all kinds of stuff added, and I use it. It has hauled 1000lb red granite boulders (5 total ) one at a time from the back of my dads 400 acres through 2 creek crossings, 30 bags of mulch 5 different times, numerous other tasks and pulls my 28' Pontoon to the lake and 31 ft Aerolite. Just because a truck looks good doesnt meant it isn't being used. We dont all have to live down gravel roads on farms and ranches (which I did for 25 years, 9 miles of gravel to the nearest pavement, while raising 130 head of Bison) or run our 4x4 frame deep in the mud every weekend to consider our truck a "truck". Welcome to the forum.

Not quite sure why summers22 decided to get offended but that happens sometimes.
Because he labeled people with nice trucks as people who don't "use" their nice looking trucks. Ignorant in my opinion. Based on the "thanks" I have received I am not alone in my thoughts.
But it is frustrating to ordinary schlepps who just need a truck to be a truck, because all OEM's cater to the high $$ trucks: 3/4 ton, 4WD, 4 door, short microscopic bed, expensive chrome wheels, equipped with street tread tires. It has gotten so that grampa on the farm just cannot find an ordinary pickup anymore. The dealers look at you like you're from Outer Space because you have no use for a diesel pickup. (My diesel is a 15 liter. It handles 80k. No kidding. Anybody wanna play?) I've spent an enormous amount of time (years ago when younger) off roading along billy goat trails or where there were no trails at all, in mountainous national forests. Some of the present day 4-wheelers might wet their britches were they to tag along with us bunch of rednecks where we went offroading. I think I have the bona fides to chime in on the subject. Oh, and there's always the working around horses and everything associated with horses. I've owned a '79 F100 (300-6 cyl), an '88 F150 (302), a '94 F150 (300-6 cyl), and now a 2014 F150 (302). All completely stock, all 2WD. I tried my hand at retail showroom sales at a Ford dealer in 1973. In the 1960's, having fallen in love with the GT40, I asked for and was given an autographed picture of Henry Ford II after we won LeMans. I think my history with Ford goes back probably longer than some of the complainers have been alive.
I think all I'm trying to say is that if you're a 21st century techno-motorhead with one of these $50k-and-skyward pickups, then God bless, enjoy yourselves, have fun, etc. It was never my intention to complain at or about them. But it is the OEM's thatv have stood us others up on date night and it's annoying as hell.
Thank you for your kind words.

Any more the plain jane work trucks are fleet sales. Not many sales for them because the majority of consumers want fancy doodads. They maybe don't want the Platinum, but power windows/mirrors/etc. I like my XLT just fine. It has just enough techno gadgets to help me. Of course, after having the power tinting mirrors, I don't think I'll ever go back to the standard. Lol.
