Default order to delivery time

I ordered a 2018 KingRanch on Nov 4,2017. Dealer told me 8-10 weeks. I have tracked the truck on COTUS. Looks like it will not be here until after Feb 4th. This will be over 13 weeks. I have always been told that custom orders get priority over dealer stock orders. Hard to believe there is that much backlog. What have others experienced? Any suggestions on how I can contact FORD and get to a person that knows something. Everyone I talk to just refers me to COTUS.

I am experiencing the same thing. I ordered mine on December 27th. My salesman told me 6-8 weeks. Its been over 3 weeks and COTUS still has it in "Processing" status. Not happy since I sold the 2010 F-150 last week with the promise of 6-8 weeks. Going to call the salesman today and try to expedite this. Or see if they can give me a loaner.

Well, when I special ordered my '11 Lariat, I was also told 6-8 weeks. I did the special order on Oct. 6th. 2010, took delivery Jan. 21rst., 2011. Ended up being 15 weeks. At about the 4 week mark I called the dealer for any updates, and that got no where. Same thing at 6 and 8 weeks when I called. As I recall, they even didn't have a VIN yet. I finally sent emails directly to Ford customer service, I think, it's been a few years now. I actually got a return call from Ford. I had ordered my Lariat with the 6.2, Max Tow and 3:73 LS rear with Nav.. In my case, I got caught up in the "Holiday break time", which ran prior to Xmas till after New Years. Plus, it was something to do with a parts back order on the 6.2 trucks, something to that effect. I tracked my order on line. From what I can remember (without looking it up again), actual production began around the 5th of Jan., and was complete in a few days. The dealer got it on the 15th.. I was out of town then. I got my first look at her on the 19th. and I took delivery on the 21rst.. Hope you don't wait as long as they say. But it will be worth it..............

Check out the thread for tracking builds. Myself and others have several posts with updates as we get more info on our builds. Eight weeks seems to be what many of us were told but reality is that it's about 12-13 now for most. COTUS is not updating regularly so ask your dealer to get you an exact status.

Part of the problem is that many of these posts begin with "my salesmen told me".

I have a bridge for sale too...

If you must have a specific "no later than" date, put it on the contract, and put on the contract that if it's missed the dealership will supply a free loaner vehicle if you must have one.

The standard answer I've always been given is 8 to 12 weeks. After the order is placed, the dealership has no control of the build process.
The 17 I ordered showed up on day 77..

I put down my deposit with the dealership on October 20, 2017 and took delivery of my 2018 King Ranch on December 28, 2017.

It was worth the wait

So after wanting to order a XLT the yay that I wanted it, found out that it had a 16 week wait until delivery I had to find something that would work for me. Found exactly what I ordered except for the sunroof at a dealership 2 1/2 hours away. Had a dealer trade done and took delivery yesterday. XLT, FX4, 6 1/2 foot bed, Max trailer tow, larger mirrors, 302A...
Very satisfied with the truck but not with the dealership.

NO disrespect to the new buyers but this is exactly what I was thinking as I read the stories.

Hope all trucks are delivered timely and as expected!

My order was submitted on Dec 30, 2017 and I was advised 8 weeks for delivery. The dealership informed me yesterday that my truck would be built the week of Feb 18. As of today, my status is "In Processing" with 45 days to delivery and Est. Delivery Date of March 11, 2018.

That would end up being 12 weeks total for me. Makes me second guess whether or not I should have simply taken the available transfer even though it contained about 3K of bloat which I did not want.
