Not knowing ever feature on your truck 17K is what the trade in value would be. Private party sale is around 20K.

the reason i am going v10 instead of diesel is the research i found is the diesel only at best gets about 2 to 3 mpg better. they seem to have a lot of problems with them holding up and if you have major problems in order to pull the motor you have to pull the cab. thanks for info.

As much as I love the V10 get the Powerstroke. Or you can just wait until next year (I think) until Ford starts making the Scorpion diesel which is supposedly going to annihilate the competition.

the scorpion sounds like a good motor, I am afraid with like most new motors they all have their fair share of problems and I do not want to spend 40k + with problems. I was also thinking about going back to the 7.3L but I do not want to go that old that is if I can find one. I am not sure if all diesels you have to pull the cab but I do not like the idea if you do. if you have problems after warranty it would be big $$$$$$$$$$.

Unless you really need the capacities of a larger, newer truck, why don't you wait until the scorpions have the kinks worked out?

I see from another post you made that you've currently got a 7500lb bumper pull.

I'm no RVing expert, but I'm guessing that you'll probably be getting a 5th wheel RV, right? Those you have to allow 25% for tongue weight. With a 10K trailer, that would put you at 2500Lbs of payload, which is close to the limit of the 250, leaving you no room for people or cargo. I'd suggest a 350. Basically the same truck with heavier suspension if I'm not mistaken, and MSRP is only $700 more.
