I can only get power to the cab and ignition only if I disconnect and reconnect the battery. Then, when I put the key in the ignition, it won't crank and it makes one small click and then I loose all power to the cab. I just replaced a fuel rail hose, so not sure if I have caused the problem somehow?

Don't you think we could help you more if we knew what truck you're talking about? Read this caption & fill in your signature with ALL its details:

The click of death is typical of corroded battery cables. Read all the captions in this photo album:

I'm new to the forum, so thanks for the info. It's a 93 5.0 4x4 Extended Cab.

I tested the battery and I think it's ok, the terminals look ok but cleaned them anyway. The cables probably have high resistance and the connections don't look good. The starter is in bad shape with lots of corrosion, I broke off the terminals when trying to take the wire off. I'm working to get a starter and 2 battery cables which I already removed. Thanks.

If that doesn't work it's the battery. I've seen many a battery that tested good but weren't.

This brand & type (though they make several models) is the only battery tester that works & is accepted for warranty claims:
