Default Oil type

Hello eveyone. New to the forum.
I just recently purchased a 2005 king ranch and needing to change the oil and filter, now heres the thing, the truck has a new jasper 5.4 with the upgrades to the oil canals and or oil pump, something like that. So do I use the motorcraft 5w-20 synthetic or should I use a heavier oil?

Olive, extra virgin for better lubbbbb.

Just put what's recommended or something better that meets the minimum specs. They can be found in the owner's manual*.

Not in a F series but in the E series our fleet has accumulated several million miles..

With the Texas climate I would recommend 5W-30 which is what we use. Being as an oil change is every 2-3 months which is 5K miles on Dino oil, we will often times run 10W-30 in the Summer months.

Reminds me of summer and winter oil before multi-vis. It was the difference in the ability of the motor to turn over on a -30/40 morning.

I always used Mobil 1 5- 20 in my 5.4. I don't think it was a jasper

250, 000 when I traded it in with the same timing belt and water pump. Never an engine issue.
