Default Oil cap

I was wondering if Part Number: F2GZ-6766-F
5w-50 cap will fit my 2011 f150 5.0L?

dont want to put a sticker on it.. I do know that the part fits a 2020-2024 mustang with a 5.2L.. I’m just curious if it could fit

That’s not really what I’m looking for.. it’s the actual cap I want to replace it’s where you put oil into the truck.. that cap.. some say 5w-20, 5w-30.. just need to know if that part number will fit and I was hoping someone has changed over the cap

Cool I understand!!

you know that it is a oil cap?

prevents valve cover leaks.

very expensive to replace on Eco-Boost.

@Broncojoe

im curious to hear more about your experience running that oil (5w50)?:
- what reasons did you switch (goals/expectstion)?
- how long have you been using?
- results vs goals?

Just buy the correct cap.
You may loan your truck one day and the wrong oil could be added, or a jiffy lube place could mess up.

You’re so right!

I’m a Mobile1 guy myself and my truck hasn’t had any different oil in my truck for 13 years.

I have used oil change places, but I bring my own oil.

Good luck my F150 friend.

Yeah, the original post is confusing, to me anyway.

Is he asking if that non original cap works on his engine, because the original is gone,
or
is he running different than spec oil and wants to match the cap to the oil being used.
Thinking it's the latter now that I read it over, so then the question is why.

Are you actually using 5W-50 oil? You should using 5W-20, or 5W-30. Instead of looking high and low for the right cap, I'd bet the dealer could get you the correct cap? Should say 5W-20 on it.

just changed to 5w-50 .. so I want something in a thicker weight.. I typically use Valvoline 5w-30 synthetic.. seeing my truck is a first gen Coyote they are known for a few problems in the the engines and want to do preemptive maintenance.. I’m hoping that the thicker weight will help..
