I’m more of an old school/old fool two stroke motorcycle rider that never really loved the first generation aluminum dirt bike frames since they didn’t flex and give a little like the tubular steel frames. They actually had a slight springy bounce to them and the front end handled a little differently at least to me.

As far as weight reduction from using aluminum in body panels and in the bed of a truck…I say way to go as long as you dial in the suspension for the weight reduction for the change which Ford must have done. I’m planning on ordering a 2018 F150 really soon and have no problem with aluminum body panels!

Well, its that same old adage, if you have nothing good to say about your stuff, bash the competition.

If you've got a problem, take it somewhere else.

As for the ride quality of the Ford F150, I don't think you have anything to worry about. My 2016 XLT is without a doubt the best riding truck I have ever owned. I have had positive remarks from just about everyone who has rode in the truck including an owner of two Cadillac's, one being the re-hashed Silverado version. Better ride and much quieter. So far, only loaded it with about 500 lbs in the box with a car trailer behind hauling tractor. I would guess a tongue weight of 150 lbs. The truck sat nearly level. No air bags or equalizer hitch. That's about as large a load as I will ever haul.

As for the Aluminum bed BS? Put a bed liner in it as most everyone else does. (Even Chevy owners) Problem solved! Enjoy your new truck.

No problem Martian, I love the fact that the F150 has aluminum panels and a steel frame. I was just trying to explain issues with aluminum frames and ride quality since some most members may not have had experience riding or driving things with aluminum frames.

I'll be happy when I get to try one of these for myself and see how it feels. I've only ever driven a 99 and my 05... plus a vague memory of another 11th gen, I think.
