Odometer Question
I am looking at a 97 F150. The guy says it has 180k Miles but shows 301 due to a swap of the cluster.
Does this match up with F150 owners that have switched them out?
I dont want to be screwed on the deal so I was looking for opinion.
Also he is aking 2800, does that sound fair? From the pics the truck looks clean.
Thanks guys.

I plan on asking him how it was switched out to see if the guy was mechanically inclined to do such a task. All he said over texts is that it went bad so he replaced it with a junk yard cluster.
BTW, I was in Huron, SD a few weeks ago.. Its SOOOOO flat there coming from idaho

it is against federal law in Canada and the USA to replace an odometer without affixing a sticker to the driver's door jamb showing the mileage before the odometer was swapped out.
I would be extremely suspicious and probably would look at another truck.

It happens, the honest thing to do it to have a speedometer shop reset the cluster. The only real was to tell is to look at the title and see what the previous milage is. Wont be exact but should be pretty close.
