Default Odometer is gone

Howdy fellas and fell-ettes,

The odometer on my 2003 F-150 goes in and out, mostly out. It's been doing this for a couple of years now I guess. Every so often I'll glance down and it will be on, but mostly it's dark. Any way to fix this problem??

Thanks from Tampa,

Rich

Yep. Google "f150 odometer blackout fix". Very common problem.

Thanks SHO. Yep, I youtubed the subject and found a couple of videos. I went out there and took the thing apart.
I loved the look on my wife's face when I've got the dash cluster on the dining room table, and and telling her that I'm working on the "motherboard". She is super impressed at my mad skills. But of course I had to tell her that it's all Youtube and this forum.

Best of all, it worked! Except, now when I apply the brakes, the radio plays "STOP! in the name of love!". Back to Youtube.

Bet the wife had something to do with that...

I did my odometer this weekend, the blackout fix is still correct after 22 years!
Thanks
