I purchased a 2014 F150 from an individual a couple of months ago. The issue Is that the odometer read 97K but the truck has over 200k on it. My question is where is the mileage stored on the truck.

 

You state have issue but really what issue are you concerned with ?? Did you buy a 97000 trk that has many more miles on it ?? Trk computor should/ will have a stored actual mileage including engine hours, Idle hours etc.

 

I doubt this was a thing on 12G trucks. Mileage is probably stored in the cluster only.

The previous owner probably swapped to a working cluster and left it at that.

 

It could indicate tampering or a problem with the display.
