Not happy
I just picked up my new F-150 Lariat and tried to use the cruise. Conked out with under 50 miles. I had it towed to Plymouth Mi from I-96. Not a happy camper.

I believe he is saying his engine died.
Please note - a new engine should not be run on cruise - especially if this is an EB. You want to drive it like you stole it!!! The first 400 miles are critical for engine longevity. The engine needs to be run at different operating speeds to seat the rings properly as well as set the bore oil channels.

Bore oil channels... there's a good one.... You realize there are no "channels" in cylinders right? Oil is scraped off by the oil control rings... that's it. Turbo's, direct injection and whatever else are irrelevant to this. Oil control rings don't have much much of a break in... go look at a set. Its two little scrapers with an expander forcing them against the wall (generally in light duty stuff). They would seat too but the spring tension from the expander is key... without it you get an oil burner and I have dealt with a few like that. Deglaze. .. new rings and back in business. Sometimes the expander just has no tension so if you pull your compression rings and the piston just falls through the bore.. the oil rings are junk. Heat and load seat compression rings in the bore... that's it. It can still get warm and see varying load on cruise... the old vary your speed BS is such garbage.. Hell... run it right to the mat for a bit climbing a grade... now you equal every engine out there broken in on a dyno. And nothing I said is unique to the ecobust because in this regard there is nothing unique about it.
Obviously something is wrong with thd OP's truck where the engine died when he enabled cruise.... and I wouldn't be happy either. It's always been Ford.... lol.
