Default Noisy in slow speed

I have a 97 f150, and while in idle, or driving at slow speeds (esp. in reverse) there is a lot of vibration coming from the what sounds like the drive shaft (under the center of the cab) any ideas??

Welcome rfleming!

Just thought....sometimes it's easier to put all your truck information in your signature. then when you ask a question, the people who can resond will know the information they need about your truck.

Viberation? Are you hearing it or feeling it? You say it's doing it at idlel and slow speeds, if it's just something your hearing I wounder if it's a heat shield. Since it's doing it at idle it should be pretty easy to find. I would have a buddy come over and help for a second set of eyes and ears.

If it's an automatic and only does it in gear check the transmission fluid level and possibly cleanliness and filter in transmission. Also a torque converter can cause the same problem.
