Default Noise initial few miles.

My Ford F150 sounds like an airplane when I first started up and drive a few miles and then it seems to kick in and be normal. Previous to this issue I was hearing an intermittent grinding noise from the front. My IWE’s and my hubs were replaced, and this new noise emerged. It’s almost like the hubs are trying to engage and then they warm up after a bit and engage. Would anybody happen to know what my problem is and what the solution may be?

Thank you

Thanks for the reply. I replaced that and it’s not it.
it only makes noise for the first few miles of driving and then kicks in. It will usually go away when I throw it in 4wd. But usually after a few miles it seems like it kicks in a drives nice

FYI
There are various control set ups for controlling the IWEs. Off hand I do not remember what years but some have a built-in time delay before they engage/disengage. I think the delay was a five minute or maybe a 5 miles.

Roger that.

ive had that valve fail on 2 different 13th gens, one was at 10k miles. Noise after about 100 yards of driving that last for a mile or two then goes away.

good luck

Do you know of a way to bypass that?

All I know is that it’s a 2018 F150 eco boost.

Well, if you have 4A, Lariat on up, throw it into 4A and see if that doesn't help. If XLT down, pull the power to the solenoid, either way, your IWEs will be locked in, and you drive with no problem. Just trying some basic troubleshooting to find out what's going on.
