Default Nitrogen In Tires

Does anyone have any experience using nitrogen in tires? I was at the dealer the other day scheduling install of some mud flaps and skid plates, and I saw some literature for some NitroFill service. They claim better gas mileage and reduced tire wear, but are they just selling you free air?

Basically. You're never gonna see enough difference in MPGs and such to recoop the cash you used to get nitrogen in them

Nitrogen is less susceptible to temperature fluctuations, has larger molecules than the air we breathe (N2 is roughly 300 picometers while O2 is slightly smaller at 292 picometers thus reducing air leaking through rubber, in theory), and is less moist than standard air, but improving mileage is like adding vinyl stickers and hoping that this increases horse power, IMHO.

The air that we breath is 78% Nitrogen by the way!

the money you save by NOT filling with nitrogen will buy you the few tanks of gas that it 'claims' to save you!

Don't they charge like $30 for the nitrogen fill? That is a ton of money. I will keep using the free stuff.

If you buy tires at costco, nitrogen is free. I wouldn't spend any money on it though. Just another gimmick.

Waste of money for me. I lower the tire pressure when I go off road.

Thanks for the advice. I had never actually heard of filling tires with Nitrogen before the banner in the dealer, but I think now I'll steer clear of it.
