Nitrogen in tires?
Got some new tires a couple weeks back and need to have my front left aired up, but the ford dealership put nitrogen in the tires, do i just go back and have them fill it up? if so does anybody know what they charge? and would it just be easier to tell them to take the nitrogen out and put normal air in it?
You can top it off with regular air. Typical "air" we breathe is actually around 78% Nitrogen and 20% Oxygen. The only reason to run Nitrogen is because it resists change in expansion and contraction (expressed in pressure) due to temperature. Race car drivers originally used it to reduce pressure change as thier tires heated up going around or down a track.
just put air in it if you dont care, air is 78% nitrogen anyway, all its supposed to do is be a bigger molecule so it doesnt leak out as fast as air, sounds like its not working out for ya though, lol!
